Overview
RingTrack is a privacy-first habit tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Data Collection
We collect ZERO personal data.
- No email addresses
- No names
- No phone numbers
- No location data
- No device identifiers
- No usage analytics
- No advertising tracking
- No third-party analytics services
Data Storage
All habit data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- Your habit names, goals, and progress are stored only on your iPhone and Apple Watch
- Data stays on your devices and is never transmitted to our servers
- We have no servers - there is nothing to transmit data to
iCloud Sync
RingTrack does not currently use iCloud sync.
If we add iCloud sync in a future version:
- Your data would sync between your own Apple devices via your personal iCloud account
- This would be handled entirely by Apple’s infrastructure
- We would have no access to your iCloud data
- You could disable iCloud sync in Settings at any time
Watch-iPhone Sync
Your iPhone and Apple Watch communicate directly with each other using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework:
- Data is transferred locally between your paired devices
- No internet connection is required
- No data passes through our servers
Tip Jar (In-App Purchases)
RingTrack offers optional tips to support development:
- Tips are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit
- We receive only aggregated sales data from Apple (no personal information)
- We never see your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing address
- Apple handles all payment processing securely
Notifications
RingTrack uses local notifications to remind you about your habits:
- Notifications are generated on your device
- No push notification servers
- No notification tracking
- You can disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time
Data You Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete habits: Swipe to delete any habit and its data
- Delete the app: Uninstalling RingTrack permanently deletes all habit data
- No account: No account creation means nothing to delete from our servers
Third-Party Services
RingTrack uses zero third-party services:
- No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No crash reporting services
- No advertising networks
- No social media integrations
Children’s Privacy
RingTrack does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date above
- Notify users through an in-app notification
- Require acceptance of new terms before continuing to use the app
Data Security
While we don’t collect your data, we take security seriously:
- All data is stored using Apple’s secure SwiftData framework
- Your device’s built-in encryption protects your data at rest
- No network transmission means no interception risk
Your Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws, you have rights regarding your data. Since we don’t collect your data:
- Right to access: All your data is visible in the app
- Right to deletion: Delete habits or uninstall the app
- Right to portability: Data stays on your device
- Right to opt-out: Nothing to opt out of - we don’t collect data
